Jan 21

It's finally getting chilly here in L.A., and today I felt the need to supplement my meager winter wardrobe. As well as the functional sweaters, the racks at Out of the Closet yielded a couple of flirty tops ... at a buck each, I didn't care that they weren't really required right now.

GREAT page and sketches -- I DO LOVE how you've combined your sketches with collaging/paint! I TOO enjoy thrift shops --!! What a treasure trove of finds!

Almost 100% of my wardrobe comes from a consignment shop called Snooty Fox. I rarely by anything from a dept. store anymore. I have a lot of designer clothes that I love, but would never have been able to afford!
As Lin said...your sketches are wonderful, and the way you present them with such attention to composition and color are admirable. Even the use of masking tape in angled pieces, notebook paper and perfed edges...all add texture. Even those of us who have been doing this for a long time continue to learn and be inspired by other's art.

This is a fun page and a great way to remember your day! Super use of color for the background, and the pieces of paper with the drawings kind of looks like clothes hung on display in a store. The grey flannel (or is it fleece?) shirt looks like the type that will most certainly become a favorite, as you said.
