Binding is done. The method used is "Single Sheet Coptic Sewn Across the Spine, Type B Attachment" from Keith Smith's book
Sewing Single Sheets: Non-Adhesive Binding Volume IV. It was my first time using this method, and as you can see, the stitching is a little wonky. I had cut 56 sheets to use in the book, but stopped binding at 40, because I was alarmed by how much swell I was getting at the spine.
Anyway I'm really pleased with how it turned out, and can't wait to start using it in about a week, when my current book is full.

What an interesting binding! I hope to see it in person some day. It looks like you did a very good job with it.
Gosh! This is so impressive! I'd love to be able to do something like this!
