September 7

We're back. Zaca Lake was all I hoped it would be; beautiful, peaceful, a place to just BE. Unfortunately, Josh was very unsettled by all the flies which spoiled his enjoyment. (I'm Australian; I'm used to flies.) Apparently they only arrive in late summer, so next time (oh yes, there will be a next time) we'll go earlier or later in the year.

I {heart} Zaca Lake. More photos here.

P.S. Linn at Cozy Living is hosting a giveaway that you might want to enter. I would certainly like one of those beautiful picnic table covers for my next visit to Zaca Lake. If I don't win hers, I might just have to make my own.

Beautiful photos, Hashi! I especially love the colors in the first one. Can't wait to go camping this fall myself!

Linn, I know, aren't those colours amazing? Thomas Kinkade, stand aside! The light that afternoon was so perfect, I just kept on snapping.

Mum, some of those photos..Oh these are just beautiful!!
and let josh know he shouldn't let the little buggers spoil his day...but if there are a few around..here is a recipe for fly papers and a link to natural outdoor fly repellent that you and josh could use next time you go.

your own flypaper

Mix 1/4 cup syrup,
1 tbsp. granulated sugar and 1 tbsp. brown sugar in a small bowl. Cut strips of brown kraft paper and soak in this mixture. Let dry overnight. To hang, poke a small hole at the top of each strip and hang with string or thread.
