France, it's cheapie, rough Kraft paper in a spiral bound journal that I bought at Borders. They have a whole range of these journal there with striped Kraft covers. I bought a largish square one with a ribbon tie. I've found the best pen for this paper is a Sharpie. I usually fiddle with the levels after I scan the illustration which is why the colours look a little different every day.
