August 12

I showed Lauren how to make a colour wheel using cheap acrylic paints, and then we played with the resulting colours. She designed shoes, I designed clothing. A nice way to spend an hour with an 8 yr old.

These are wonderful. I love series and collections of drawings on a page like this and they're so bright and colorful.

They remind me of the paper doll clothes my sister and I used to make when we were about 8. First we'd draw the people on cardboard and color them in and cut them out. Then we made clothes for them like these drawings, with little tabs to fold over on top and sides to hold them on. We'd play with them a bit in their new outfits and then make more outfits...etc.

What a fun activity. Lauren better get rich if she's into shoes already :)
