August 17

I called Mum's ward, and got a man with a strong accent who said, I thought, "Your mother is sleeping now." When I got him to repeat it, he said, "My name is Sleeper (?) and I'm Helen's nurse." Turns out Mum was at the gym, which makes her sound much betterer than she really is.

I feel like a crumpled doily. Screwed up. Not doing my job of protecting delicate surfaces and looking pretty. And holey, definitely holey. Not sure how far I can take this analogy. I should probably stop now, and go to bed, which is where I want to be.

Sleep is a very important part for you, that is one of the ways the body deals with high stress, get as much as you can, along with food and good company. The brain and it's ability to recover can be astounding sometimes, hope this is one of those times! A crumpled, holey doillie sounds about right for what you are going through, must be even tougher when folks aren't clear on the phone.

Your cards are exqusite! They are so interesting! How creative you are!

Poor you, Hashi - you'll have to pamper yourself a bit this weekend. You're so clever with these collages :)

Love the analogy and the drawing. It is terrible having to communicate at a distance.

Yikes, Dionne! Don't tell me who it is, and make sure he (or she!) knows I am married!!
