Well if it is a navel orange it should have ripe oranges in winter, at least we do here, so maybe your ripe one is out of kilter. Of course if it isnt a navel well I dont know, valencias are sort of summer.

Our orange tree has one big ripe fruit, and a bunch of tiny green ones. What's with that?
